Bodmin Jail is a Georgian and Victorian treasure chest.  Spanning the 1700s to the 1900s, the prison covers a fascinating period of time and enables an exploration of the changes to social history and to crime and punishment. Nowhere else in in Cornwall can your class walk into a restored jail and come face to face with the past and the people who once lived here.

All of our learning experiences feature themes regarding the prison, the people who were imprisoned, the crimes they committed, the Victorians and the Georgian and the worlds of the 1700 and 1800 hundreds. Our educational team are experts at delivering these themes to a range of different age groups and covering key aspects of the National Curriculum throughout your visit.

Our Educational visits run daily and include a guided tour of the prison, including the immersive Dark Walk, with activities based around your topic.  Each class have their own dedicated member of our excellent education team, taking charge of them from the moment you step off the coach right up to the end of your visit.

To book an educational visit or for more information, get in touch with us today via email groups@bodminjailattraction.co.uk or by telephone 01208 76292.

All of our visits for KS2 include a broad range of information based on why the prison was built, the people who spent their time there and the reasons they were imprisoned.
