Early Years & Key Stage 1

Visiting a historical prison can be a daunting experience for adults and children.  A trip to Bodmin Jail for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children is often the first time that they will experience being in a darker environment.  We find that our friendly education team and their exciting style of teaching is a great way for children of all ages to overcome uncertainties and to open up their understanding and enthusiasm for history.

To book an educational visit or for more information, get in touch with us today via email groups@bodminjailattraction.co.uk or by telephone 01208 76292.

All of our learning experiences feature themes regarding the prison, the people who were imprisoned, the crimes they committed, the Victorians and the Georgian and the worlds of the 1700 and 1800 hundreds. Our educational team are experts at delivering these themes to a range of different age groups and covering key aspects of the National Curriculum throughout your visit.

Our Educational visits run daily and include a guided tour of the prison, including the immersive Dark Walk, with activities based around your topic.  Each class have their own dedicated member of our excellent education team, taking charge of them from the moment you step off the coach right up to the end of your visit.
