Step into the shadows of Bodmin Jail this Halloween and uncover the haunted history of the jail and beyond. Our Haunted Gallery exhibit explores Cornwall’s famous hauntings from around the world, tales of paranormal phenomena, and haunted history that has shaped our belief and understanding of the paranormal. Immersive and atmospheric,we've overhauled our self-guided expereince with themed cells that explore the world of the paranormal.

Bodmin Jail Paranormal
Bodmin Jail was constructed in 1779, and in its long and harrowing history it has witnessed more grief, despair, and turmoil than most places could ever contain. It is these very stories that are believed to leave an imprint on the walls, shaping the haunted side of the building.
This October, our Haunted Gallery invites you to step into the paranormal history of the jail. Explore its roots and encounter the infamous spirits said to linger here — from restless prisoners to shadowy figures that have been seen roaming the darkened cells. Discover the fear, folklore, and ghostly legends that have earned Bodmin Jail its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the UK.

The Haunted Gallery is the ultimate Halloween adventure at Bodmin Jail, perfect for visitors of all ages. Step into centuries of chilling history and uncover the paranormal side of one of Britain’s most haunted sites. Ghostly figures can be spotted throughout the cells, placed back where they once belonged as eerie reminders of what cannot be seen.
For younger ghostbusters, our Trick or Treat Activity Trail runs from 17–31 October, offering spooky fun with clues, puzzles, and a sweet reward at the end. For everyone else, there is plenty to leave you questioning — are we truly alone? From immersive projections exploring hauntings, to our brand-new Paranormal Audio Trail launching on 17 October, the Haunted Gallery is not to be missed.
With plenty of photo opportunities along the way, you will leave with memories to make your friends jealous that their Halloween wasn’t as spooky as yours. Will you dare to enter?
