Our Season of the Witch exhibit explores Cornwall’s infamous witch trials, tales of persecution, and the folklore that shaped fear and belief for centuries. Immersive and atmospheric, it reveals the stories of those accused, condemned, and remembered in Cornwall’s haunted past.

Delve into Cornwall’s dark past as we uncover the lives of two of its most infamous accused witches. Discover the tale of Anne Jeffries, said to have been gifted with otherworldly powers, and Joan Wytte — the ‘Fighting Fairy Woman of Bodmin’ — whose tragic fate saw her condemned and imprisoned. Their stories reveal the fear, folklore, and persecution at the heart of Cornwall’s history of witchcraft.
