Our Cornish Folklore Exhibit invites you to explore the wild, wonderful, and sometimes wicked tales woven into the very fabric of Cornwall. From ancient legends passed down through generations to mischievous creatures that still stir imaginations today, this immersive experience is perfect for curious minds of all ages.
A World of Giants, Mermaids, and Mischievous Piskies
Delve into Cornwall’s rich mythological past as we uncover the characters and creatures that define the region’s storytelling traditions. You’ll meet towering giants that once roamed the moors, mermaids luring sailors off the rugged coast, and mysterious Knockers said to haunt the deepest corners of the county’s mines.
The exhibit also brings to life the cheeky world of Cornish piskies; small tricksters with a big presence in local legend. In fact, we’ve captured a few of these elusive beings in jars… but one has escaped and hidden the others throughout the jail! Follow the Piskie Trail, uncover their hiding spots, and see how many you can find. Don’t forget to tell us your final count in the gift shop. You might just earn yourself a magical reward!
