The Love of the Unloved Activity Trail

Our half term activity trail has been designed especially for curious minds.

Families can follow clues around the historic jail, take part in themed games and challenges, and discover fascinating facts about creatures and characters that history did not always treat kindly. Complete the trail and collect a prize from the gift shop before you leave.

It is an engaging way to explore the jail at your own pace, encouraging children to observe, question and discover while parents enjoy the rich stories that make Bodmin Jail so unique.

The trail runs daily throughout half term and is included in standard self-guided admission.

Meet the Unloved with ZooLab

On selected dates during half term, we are welcoming ZooLab to Bodmin Jail for an unforgettable hands-on experience.

ZooLab will be bringing a collection of misunderstood creatures and creepy crawlies into the jail, giving visitors the opportunity to get up close and learn more about them in a safe and supportive environment.

ZooLab will be visiting on:

  • Monday 16th

  • Tuesday 17th

  • Thursday 19th

  • Friday 20th

Animals will be on site from 1pm to 4pm, with live talks taking place at 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.

These interactive sessions are included within your self-guided entry. We recommend booking your visit between 12:30pm and 4pm to make sure you can take part.

The talks are educational, engaging and ideal for children who love nature, science and discovering the truth behind common myths about animals.

Older children and adults can explore the evidence in Cornwall’s most talked-about historical case and decide where they stand.
