Welcome to Bodmin Jail’s Restaurant
As well as the Jail Museum attraction, we also offer meals at our restaurant within the impressive Governors Hall, which includes a stunning bar. We also can offer you our very comfortable Witness Box wine bar, where morning or afternoon tea and coffee can be served. During the evening, why not enjoy a pre or after dinner drink whilst relaxing on a comfortable leather sofa, and a roaring log fire in winter!
Join other weary travelers in the Governors Hall where we serve a great range of home cooked food freshly prepared from local produce by our dedicated brigade of chefs.
A large range of ‘lite bites’ made fresh to order are also on offer to tempt you.
For those who have a sweet tooth or enjoy a relaxed afternoon, we serve the best Cream Tea, which includes two homemade plain scones, individual clotted cream and a small pot of the best jam; or maybe try “Thunder & Lightening” Scones as before but with runny honey, all served with tea or freshly ground coffee.
The Young Offenders menu comes with fresh healthy alternatives if you wish e.g. new potatoes instead of chips, or lettuce, tomato and cucumber instead of baked beans!
Our chalkboard specials change on a daily basis, reflecting the changing seasons in the sea and on the land, and allow our chefs to display their many talents.
Our desserts are homemade and come with a choice of clotted cream, fresh cream, ice cream or custard!
Finish the weekend with a fine banquet, and feast on one of our famous Sunday Roasts from the Specials Board! There is something for all to enjoy in the Jail Kitchens!
